Product Management

Create a Product

Before you can list any products, you must create products in your product catalogue.

Buyers can only buy whole value units of your items. So if you list carrots in kg, they cannot buy 1.5kg. To allow them to do this, consider listing with the unit as 500g.

  1. Navigate to products in the side bar.
  2. Click “Create Product”
  3. Select a product name from the dropdown This should be the product name without variant, the variant should go in the description. If you do not see a product name that matches your product, you can click Add new product and insert a new product name.
  4. Add a description. This should be the variant of the product along with any further information you would like to add and should not include the unit of measure. You will be able to chanege this on a per market cycle basis if you want to add messages that change more regularly.
  • For example: if you are selling cheese by the 250g block, set the product name to “Cheddar” and the description to “block of cheddar cheese” with 250g set as the unit.
  1. Add a price. This is the price per unit of measure. If you are selling by the kg, this is the price per kg.
  2. Tick whether VAT applies or not. If you tick this box you must have produced Fill in all the other fields for your product. All of these can be changed after creation except the product name.
  3. Click save product.

If your weights can vary (eg cheese and meat), please consider catch weight items.

Edit a Product in your Catalogue

  • Editing can be made to products in your catalogue. Changes to fields other than the description and the price will affect stock you have listed.
  1. Click on the row of the product or the edit icon to edit the product.

List Stock

  1. Click on Market Cycles in the side bar.
  2. Click on a market cycle that is not yet open to buyers or open to buyers.
  3. Click on List products
⚠️
Warning

Changes to the description and price of products in your catalogue will not affect stock you have already listed. You must adjust these directly or unlist them. Changes to the unit and category will affect listed stock. Double check the listing in the market cycle if you are unsure of the effect of your changes. It is not advisable to change the unit for products that are listed if they have any orders.
