Minimum Orders
Configure warning and removal timings for minimum orders
Minimum orders let sellers set the smallest basket value a buyer must reach with them in a market cycle. Buyers below a seller's minimum are warned and then have their under-target items removed before the cycle closes.
Sellers control the value of their own minimum (see the seller guide). As admin, you control the timing of the warning and removal — both marketplace-wide and per cycle.
Marketplace-wide timing
Go to Settings → Minimum orders to set the defaults that apply to every cycle:
| Setting | Default | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| Removal offset | 120 minutes | How long before the cycle closes under-target items are removed. |
| Warning lead | 60 minutes | How long before removal the warning email is sent. |
| Grace period | 30 minutes | Items added within this window before removal are protected and won't be removed. |
With the defaults, a buyer who is below a minimum is emailed about 3 hours before the cycle closes (60 + 120 minutes), and any items still short are removed about 2 hours before close.
Warning
Warning lead must be smaller than the removal offset — the warning has to land before removal. The form blocks you from saving an invalid combination.
Per-cycle overrides
You can override any of the three timings for an individual cycle on its market-cycle configuration page (Configuration → Market cycle configs → [cycle]).
- Each override field shows the live marketplace default as its placeholder (e.g.
Inherits 120). - Leave a field blank to inherit the marketplace-wide value.
- The "warning lead must be smaller than removal offset" rule still applies when both override fields are filled in.
Notes
- Minimum orders are gated by the
minimumOrdersfeature flag. The settings and per-cycle override screens only appear when the flag is enabled for the marketplace. - Removed items are not charged to buyers and their stock is returned to sale automatically; there are no refunds to process because nothing is invoiced for removed items.
- Sellers are not notified when a buyer's items are removed — only the buyer receives the warning email.
